Some of my favorite things to shop for at HomeGoods

There are some things I head straight to HomeGoods for first, before checking higher end stores, where I know I’ll find it.
I like to get the best prices for my clients.
And there are just some things that you don’t need to pay top dollar for.
Inexpensive drapery panels and rods –
Sometimes you have a kids room that you don’t want to break the bank on.
Sometimes you just don’t have the budget to splurge on expensive window treatments.
You can find super inexpensive drapery rods and draperies at HomeGoods!
Yes, some of the rods are plastic and some of the panels can be polyester and thin. You have to decide what you want before you go in. There are nice ones sprinkled in. I’ve even found extra long, lined draperies. And there are always inexpensive designer options.
Lamps –
Like I always say, lamps are like the jewelry for a room. And HomeGoods has aisles and aisles of
really fun lamps in so many styles! #DecorateWithWhatMakesYouHappy #HomeGoodsHappy
Accent furniture –
Adding a fun accent piece to your space can change the whole look of the room. HomeGoods is a great place to find inexpensive accent furniture. You can even find a quality, name brand piece with good construction for a great price.
Make sure you turn the furniture over and look at how it’s made.
If you’re looking for furniture that will be used often, then make sure it’s made well, with dovetail construction on the drawers, reinforced legs, etc.
If you just want a fun, accent piece that won’t be used much, like a side console table or a little end table next to a rarely used chair, then go for inexpensive and find something that looks great.
Pillows –
If you’ve been reading this blog or hanging out on the Details Facebook page, you know that I love to swap out the throw pillows on my own sofa seasonally. I also love to add fun, colorful throw pillows to my clients sofas. HomeGoods always has several aisles of pillows to choose from, for a great price.
Accessories –
Of course, I love to shop for home accessories at HomeGoods.
This is when going in with a vision of the aesthetic you’re going for comes into play.
There are aisles and aisles and shelves and shelves of home accessories.
Picturing in your mind the color, size, and shape of what you’re looking for is really helpful when looking for accessories.
I’ve found some gorgeous, name brand items for dirt cheap. Look in every nook and cranny of the store and be sure to check every section of the store. HG spreads accessories out in every section of the store.
You can even find great accessories for your living room in the kid’s section. Just because one HG employee thought a pillow looked great in the kid’s section doesn’t mean it won’t look great in your living room.
You can also find local accessories at your local HomeGoods. It’s great to add a little personality to your space.
Grasses and florals –
Good looking faux grasses and florals can be expensive.
That’s why I like to check HomeGoods first. You can find realistic looking flowers, grasses, and plants there. But, be sure to weed through the plastic, tacky ones to find the gems.
There are often buckets spread throughout the store with grasses and sticks too.
Baskets –
For some reason, baskets can be so expensive. HomeGoods always has a great selection of baskets, in all shapes and sizes, for cheap, sometimes even on clearance.
Kid’s and Teen Bedroom Décor –
Let’s face it kid’s can be fickle. Their tastes change frequently as they grow. So, when decorating a kid’s or teen’s bedroom I tend to look for inexpensive items that can be swapped out when they tire of it. HomeGoods is a great place to find inexpensive accessories, frequently.
