Have Some Fun with Your Subway Tile!

Subway tiles are all the rage. I’m sure you’ve seen them on Fixer-Upper with Joanna Gaines! People are just loving subway tile right now.
So here’s the thing, it doesn’t have to be boring old subway tile.

It could be a little bit more fun, and here’s how- by using a dark grout.

See how if you use a dark grout it really shows the pattern?

Speaking of pattern, it doesn’t have to be just a stacked brick pattern.

You could do a stacked pattern, you could do a vertical pattern, you could do a chevron pattern, you can do all kinds of fun things with your subway tile.

And in order for those patterns to show, you use white tile with a dark grout or you could use a dark tile with a light grout.

There are even really fun grouts!

You could have a blue grout if you had some blue in your countertops.

That’s not to say that if you have a beautiful stone countertop that you want to have your backsplash be the star. Sometimes you do just want your backsplash to be classic and timeless, and that’s when you go with a grout that matches your tile because you want your countertops to be the star.

I do love subway tile. It’s a great way to create a kitchen that is classic and timeless and won’t go out of style next year, but you can also have a little bit of fun with it.
