Put a Little Life in Your Space

Easy ways to Bring the Outdoors In

I recently did a Facebook Live video about Design Mantras.
One of them was that every room needs a little life, something living.
Adding life to your space can, not only make you happier, it can also make you healthier. Science has said that adding living things to your home can provide you with a sense of well-being and make you happier. Seriously!
You’re probably thinking, “That’s great Wendy, but how do I do that?”
So, here are 3 ways you can bring add some life to your spaces.

  1. Create an herb garden on your kitchen windowsill. Great idea right? You’ll have some life in the space & you’ll have delicious treats to add to your culinary creations.

  1. Add a succulent garden to your coffee table. Did you know that they’re even having parties to create these now? And, you can drink wine at them! Can someone please invite me to one of these??? Succulents are super low maintenance and they add some softness, and life, to your space.

  1. Add something organic. Adding life doesn’t have to be literal. It doesn’t have to really be alive right now. You can add something organic like woven baskets or wicker or rattan chairs. Adding these things adds texture and warmth to a space, without the whole green thumb, maintenance thing. The chair below is from Pier 1.

Creating spaces that are warm, friendly, welcoming home means that you need to include some life in the space. It adds character, texture and personality. So, if you don’t want to go the whole fish tank route, you can try one of the suggestions above.

Be sure to let me know how it goes.
